Our PURPOSE

It’s our purpose at the St. Francis Home to offer assisted living services at a rate substantially lower than the industry standard. Our founders, The Catholic Diocese, Board of Directors, and our expanding donor volunteer base are all key to our ongoing mission and vision.

Take A Tour

The best way to get to know us is to visit our community and meet our leadership and staff who serve our residents. See firsthand the residence options, as well as the community spaces, which include several outdoor gardens, common areas for gathering, and a wonderful new chapel.

Connection is a key part of community. There are regular varied opportunities, ranging from mind stimulating activities like board games and dominoes; movie nights, and fun outdoor celebrations such as luaus and ice cream socials. Our new chapel provides a place for quiet worship.

Saint Francis Home’s purpose is to offer life-enhancing care and services to seniors. Our leadership consults with prospective residents to determine the best option for their individual care needs. We strive to nurture the independence, dignity and autonomy of every resident within a hospitable atmosphere. Saint Francis Home is open to adults over the age of 50 without preference or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or country of origin.

Saint Francis Home is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Social Services as an Assisted Living Facility. As such, residents do not require skilled nursing care, but may need supervision and/or assistance in some of their activities of daily living.

Residents are encouraged to take an active role in planning for their care, and to function at their highest level of independence. Residents must be ambulatory or semi-mobile (meaning they are mobile with the assistance of a walker or wheelchair), and capable of doing their own transferring and toileting. They must be able to eat meals without assistance.

What People are Saying

My sister has been a resident there for about 5 months and I am very relieved that we were able to find this community. The staff are very attentive, the facility is very clean and we are grateful for the comfortable, secure setting.

Earlier this year my family began looking for a place for my special needs sister to live after the death of her friend and roommate of 40 years. St. Francis Home was recommended to us and after meeting with administrators and staff, we decided to try if for my sister. We were very concerned about how she would adapt but, from day 1, she has thrived. The staff has been incredible to her and to us… to name a few, Jeff McInnis, Frances Robinson, Tyrell, and Jan. The facility itself is well kept, inside and out. There are a wide range of activities and my sister enthusiastically jumped into them. We really could not be any happier!!! St. Francis Home is the perfect place for my sister, and we are so fortunate to have found it!

It was a easier for me to feel at home here since a longtime friend lives down the hall. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

St. Francis is a Excellent Assisted Living facility. My Mom loves it.
