Most Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

What kind of community is St. Francis Home?

A.

Saint Francis Home is an assisted living community, where residents have access to help with personal care, medication management, meals/nutrition, transportation, and other daily activities. Nursing homes typically cater to residents whose functional health has declined, or that need temporary skilled care or rehabilitation. Skilled care is the only care which is Medicare reimbursable, and is for a defined period of time. For more information about the difference between assisted living and nursing care, you may visit the licensing agencies, the Department of Social Services (assisted living), or the Department of Health (Nursing Care).

Q.

What is included in the monthly fee for residency at Saint Francis Home?

A.

The monthly fee covers ALL of the basic costs of living at Saint Francis Home. That includes all meals, utilities (electric, plumbing, cable television and internet access), laundry services, light housekeeping, assistance with arrangements for transportation, social events and cultural activities, and much more. Our single payment formula helps to minimize expenses, reduce surprises, and keep budgeting simplified.

Q.

Are the residences at Saint Francis Home fully furnished?

A.

Most residents wish to personalize their rooms with their personal furnishings. If a resident has a need, the Saint Francis Home staff will work with them to provide what is requested.

Q.

Do Saint Francis Home residents have cars?

A.

They may if they wish. There is ample parking both on and off the campus of Saint Francis Home. One of the conveniences of the Manchester neighborhood is public transportation, which we are able to help residents coordinate.

Q.

What is the procedure for guests and visitors?

A.
